1. Choose the correct Crisp website
In GPT KeFu, create a project with Crisp selected as the channel. Open the project’s Crisp setup page. In Crisp, open Settings → Website Settings, select the website that hosts your customer chat and copy its Website ID.
Paste the Website ID into GPT KeFu and save it. Use the ID of the website, not its domain name or a conversation ID. If you manage several websites, check the selected workspace before continuing.
2. Install and check the plugin
Follow the plugin installation link displayed by the setup screen. In Crisp, select the same website whose ID you just saved and complete installation. Return to GPT KeFu and run the installation check.
If installation is not detected, confirm both the selected website and the plugin status in Crisp. Installing the plugin on another website will not connect this project. Resolve the failed check before enabling replies.
3. Review instructions and enable replies
Review the project’s AI instructions: describe the product, the types of questions it should answer and how it should respond when information is missing. Keep a first test narrow enough that you can judge the response.
The final setup step lets you enable AI replies. If you finish with AI disabled, return to the Crisp settings page to enable it when ready. Knowledge-based replies require a plan with RAG; creating a project alone does not make a knowledge base available.
4. Send a new visitor message
- Open the website chat as a visitor and send a question covered by your project instructions or processed knowledge base.
- Check the same conversation in Crisp. Confirm an AI reply arrives and compare it with the information you provided.
- Ask an out-of-scope question and check that the response does not invent a policy or product capability.
- If your plan includes automatic pause, enable it and configure a duration. Reply as a human agent, then send another visitor message during the pause to check the behavior.
If the first reply does not arrive
- Check that the visitor message belongs to the Website ID saved in this project.
- Confirm the plugin installation check succeeds and AI replies are enabled.
- Check the project’s subscription and model settings for errors or unavailable capabilities.
- If a human just replied, check whether automatic pause is active and wait for the configured duration before testing again.
Questions before you start
- Does installing the plugin automatically import my help center?
- No. Add the content you want the AI to use through the project knowledge base, on a plan that supports it. Confirm processing before testing.
- How should I test with another bot already installed?
- Review both bots’ activation settings and temporarily limit the other responder in your test environment. This makes it possible to identify which service produced each reply.
